Friday Favorite: The Hive-Inn

This modular design is a favorite to win the Radical Innovation awards, and Sky's the Limit!!! Imagine a hotel room made from a shipping container and Uber luxurious!  Imagine the room is themed with your favorite brand, fashion and or designer labels such as Tiffany & Co, Burberry, Alexander McQueen, Hermes, Rolex, Ferrari, and more!!! Where do I sign up!!! This clever and creative architectural concept, The Hive-Inn, was dreamt up by the Hong Kong-based architects at OVA Studio. At first glance I thought these colorful containers looked more like a Jenga game than a hotel, but this structure is not intended to tumble over. In fact these designer rooms can be traded in and out without disturbing other containers all by a crane that sits at the top of the structure. There is talk it would possibly travel onto other cities too! Made completely out of recycled shipping containers, these branded rooms would offer enormous advertising opportunities for the coveted and elite.
Innovative & Amazing! Have a wonderful weekend!! XO

Winter Wardrobes: The Classic Trench Coat

The fall weather has been like a relationship and inspiring puzzle, keeping me on my creative toes! One day it's sunny and bright, the next, it's crisp and chilly. My solution to this seasonal wardrobe limbo is simple... chic layering, and do it with a trench coat! I have spotted some killer winter wardrobes ranging from coast to coast, yet these are my standout must-haves!

Burberry reworks its iconic trench coat in black leather. Ribbed sleeves and side panels give this piece a fierce and flattering structure.

Thakoon Addition's military-inspired design feels new and edgy. Trimmed with supple leather patches, this cotton-blend canvas piece will transition seamlessly from summer to fall.

Marc Jacobs aubergine trench with faux fur and detailed buttons gives you this remarkable chic and sophisticated look.

Moncler's new pop star, brown, down jacket = ultimate luxury.

Currently Coveting: Hermes

Hermes ~ Not your ordinary fashion label! Originating in France in 1837 crafting harnesses for carriages and horses, Thierry Hermes acquired a taste for luxurious items and has given us the gift of true luxury - feminine, delicate, eye-catching art!

The elegant fashion house maintains the marriage of luxury, art, fashion, integrity, craftsmanship and quality of the brand by carefully curating the design and production talents. They select craftspeople that share the passion to create beautiful work making it possible to construct these incomparable styles we can't help but fawn over. It's with these gifted artisans, the maroquinier (leather artisan) who hand stitches and sews the handbags and gloves and the dessinateur (engraver) who works solely on the illustration of a scarf that instill the Hermes name we love and adore.

To really appreciate the culture behind the luxury line, you should know what lies within the doors of Hermes. Some designs have taken a record 2000 hours to complete! Each handbag involves skillful handwork making every stitch matter, gloves often require special sewing machines and are finished by hand, and scarves… the scarf making process amazes me the most!!! Hermes scarves are made from the finest silks and can take almost 2 years from start to finish! Each scarf has it’s own illustrator that separates each color from the picturesque design for screen printing - lastly, small details are inscribed by either a pencil, brush or electric pen.

Today, Hermes holds the world's most coveted square and hand bags. From fashion, fine art, street displays, ink illustrations and all of the brilliant techniques in between, it ceases to amaze me of what we are capable of when we allow our minds to wander free. I always seek inspiration and it's those you admire most that are just like you! It's hump day - get your inspiration on!
