Domestic Violence Awareness Month : Sojourn Tea

Together with long time friend Vanessa Marcil, I kicked off the holiday season with a very special afternoon Tea in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, celebrating the work of Sojourn Services for Battered Women and Their Children. "Sojourn" meaning a temporary stay, provides these victims a place to regroup, rebuild, and reestablish ones self-esteem and lives. I have had a special relationship with Sojourn since 2011 when I spearheaded a t-shirt campaign with my eldest daughter, Ella, and the Guess family. As a mother, wife, daughter, and sister, my commitment to these profound issues remain strong and I am proud to support the work of these amazing individuals who work tirelessly at Sojourn.

Our event was the perfect marriage of philanthropy, shopping and little bites! I would like to thank Pat Butler, director of Sojourn for sharing and educating us about DV in such a intimate setting, Rebecca Taylor for her exquisite trunk show featuring drop dead gorgeous pieces from her fall collection, My Bijoux Box for their stunning jewels, and Cuvee, for an incredible mouth watering experience of tea, sandwiches, scones, and pastries, without which this event would not have been so perfectly girly!

October ~ Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October marks Domestic Violence Awareness Month. My involvement with Sojourn Services For Battered Woman and their Children began back in early 2010 thanks to my dear friend Vanessa Marcil. Soon after meeting the incredible staff and organization, I spearheaded a project and empowered my teen daughter to take action. My daughter, Ella Marciano created and custom designed " The Love Tank" to raise awareness for DV. The Love Tank was sold in staple Guess stores nationwide, and all proceeds went to Sojourn. My longtime support continues and I'm excited to announce that I will be joining forces once again with my dear friend and philanthropist Vanessa Marcil.

On October 23, we will be hosting a private event in a private Beverly Hills estate.
The 10 highest donations given will have the opportunity to come to our afternoon tea catered by the delicious CuvĂ©e restaurant & have an exclusive shopping experience with a trunk show by famed designer Rebecca Taylor.
